Satsangham- The Spiritual Activities of Ramakrishna Math, Kadapa

Daily Puja at the Main Center  Significance of the daily worship to Sri Ramakrishna Devotee worships his chosen deity, who is the creator and sustainer of the devotees and all creation, considering Him his whole refuge at all times ie. when every thing goes well or at the time of crisis as well. At the time of pooja the deity is brought out from the inner chamber of one’s heart and serves Him with various items like water (for washing & drinking etc), fruits etc. and is taken care of, as one offers hospitality to an honored guest. Sri Ramakrishna is our chosen deity (Ishta Devata). Hence, pooja is offered to Him in the shrine. On behalf of all the inmates and devotees, poojari offers daily worship. Others only join in congregational singing, chanting etc. and other services.

Ramanama Sankirtan: Sri Rama is considered a most Ideal man , (ie. ideal son, brother, worrier, friend, husband etc.)who can be of guidance to all devotees. By participating in Rama Nama Sankirtan, devotees will be remembering all those noble qualities and thus imbibe them in their own lives. Sri Anjaneya, who is a constant devoted servant and companion of Sri Rama will be automatically remembered when Rama is worshiped. Swami Vivekananda wanted the purity, faithfulness, valor, determination and other noble qualities of Mahavir Hanuman as an ideal for our youngsters. Hence he wished Mahavir should be worshiped. By bringing Rama, both of them are worshiped and remembered on Ekadashi days in our main center.

Narada Bhaktisutras: Narada says that the Preliminary bhakti is casified in three categories by Gunas ie. Satwika , Rajasika and Tamasika. Or as Aarti, Artharthi and Jijnasu. Lord in the Bhagavad Gita declares “Who so ever in what so ever form worship me, I shall respond to them accordingly”. Devotees like Prahlada belonged to Satwika type, Ravana to Rajasika and Bhasmasura to Tamasika type. Where as the Jijnasu devotee wants to Know about God , Artharthi devotee wants favours from God, and Aarta devotee is one who wants to seek God because of helplessness.
